Biography
Kyle Gunderson is a 6'3 215 lbs pitcher out of Rice University. He was born in Austin, Texas, where he led Anderson High School to the fourth round of the state playoffs. Gunderson was an All-state and all-central Texas selection and was named District 26-4A most valuable player.
At Rice University, Kyle started at first base one year after Rice won the National Championship. In his Junior year, he made his first appearance as a pitcher and was a contributing factor in the team's College World Series run. Rice coach, Wayne Graham, has said, "Kyle could be a definite factor as a middle reliever." Thus far with the Nationals organization, Kyle has been nothing but a solid part of the Minor League bullpen.
The Washington Nationals selected Gunderson in the 2007 draft. He has been used primarily as a closer ever since. He maintains a low ERA and has an outstanding K/BB ratio. Kyle is officially the second Washington Nationals organization player to be signed by Dynasty. He is currently with the High A Potomac Nationals.
