Biography

Dan Leatherman, a 6'2 RHP from Frederick, Maryland, signed with Twins as non-drafted free agent on June 23, 2006. He attended West Virginia University.

Last year, Dan went 1-2 with five saves and a 2.68 ERA in 26 games with Class A Hagerstown (Washington Nationals affiliate) of the South Atlantic League. He converted all five save opportunities and tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings to pick up the win on June 29. Dan also picked up saves in back-to-back games on July 20 and 25, and tossed 2 1/3 perfect innings on July 25. He held left-handed hitters to a .158 average.

In 2009, with the Potomac Nationals, Dan went 6-1 with 5 saves and a 3.23 ERA. He led all relievers on the team in innings pitched, with 69.2. Leatherman had 67 strikeouts to go with 23 walks. He was called up to AA Harrisburg on September 4, 2009.
